How women fared in BC's recent elections

In his recent post, blogger Andrew Kurjata takes a closer look at how female politicians in northern BC made out in the municipal elections.

His analysis reveals that while Prince George and Terrance managed to meet the United Nations benchmark for female representation at 30 percent, most municipalities in Northern BC fell well below.

Meanwhile, things are looking pretty good for women in politics in the Sea-to-Sky corridor. Both Whistler and Pemberton elected a majority of women to their councils, which is a landmark for both communities.
